How long can a new captain, with less than a year with the company, expect to sit on reserve and at what base?

ATL base for Delta flying. Reserve at DTW is less than 6 mo's for highspeeds and 1 yr for regular line. MSP about 6 mo more. MEM is forevvvvvvvvver.

If you are a captain with less than a year seniority bid DTW. In a few years you MAY be off of reserve but you will never see a weekend off unless you are a lifer. Keep in mind there will be 500 FOs senior to you that will upgrade and you will stay on the bottom of the CA list wherever you end up.

Thanks for the info. The quick upgrade sound good, but not if people are always coming in on top of you. I'd be a junior captain forever.

The ATL base went extremely senior for captains. After all that fuss about how nobody would bid it because there is no -900 payrate yet - it went senior as hell.
