Brace yourself. First year pay is 20.13 with a 75 hr. guarantee which comes up to about 1509.75 per month. Min days off is 10 and on reserve this is done with 5 on 3 off, 5 on 2 off, etc. No pay, hotel or per diem during training. As for hiring, well that is the million dollar question.
I would think they would have to hire sometime. 129 aircraft at a MINIMUM of 4 crews per airplane, still = over 1000 pilots. I believe the seniority list including training pilots is now only 684.
From the interviewing during the summer they filled the pool up. With the delayed classes (pushed back a month or so) they probably will be able to draw from the pool until the end of the year. Possible interviewing to come early to mid Nov.
With upgrades at a halt, expect reserve to climb. The 6 months or less of reserve will be a thing of the past for FO's.
If you looking to come here to upgrade in less than 3 years.. I would not count on that either
Can someone explain the stagnation? Right now PCL has in the neighborhood of 70 CRJs. According to the latest press release, there's supposed to be 129 on property by the end of '05. That's darn near double. What's with all the reserve, lack of upgrades, etc.? Seems to me like nearly everyone on the list right now has a good shot at upgrading before the deliveries stop. What am I missing?
well.... if you look closely and follow the strings... you will see the true puppet master(s)...
Heck, do you think we know? Most CA's have been junior manned to contract limits, then they do the extension game for a while. There is no shortage of FO's waiting to upgrade who have the time.
No upgrades for the rest of the year (subject to change, like everything else at PCL).
I would agree that everyone on the list now has will have the opportunity to upgrade by sometime in early '06. The question would be though.. those low time (less than 1000TT) guys we hired would they have the 3000TT in less than 2 years?
Reserve time at Pinnacle seems to be based on A: What base you choose (luck of the draw)......I'm still on reserve and have never held a line going on over a year now, while FO's right out of IOE can hold a line in MEM and MSP. And B: Whatever hairbrained staffing model the company sees fit to implement today. The real fact of the matter is that they are not going to be able to sustain 4.3 crews per plane (or whatever it is today) for much longer. Everyone is maxed out and I'd be willing to bet that there will be quite a number of CA's timing out in Nov or early Dec because of all the junior manning and extending. But I'm sure Nonconnah hasn't thought about that yet. By the way, I was down in Memphis last week and spoke to S. Grantham about hiring. She told me that they have 34 people in the pool still to hire and that until they are picked up they won't be actively hiring unless "something changes" This was before the CRJ announcement, so that has probably changed already. Just thought I would share that.
Spocksbeard,
I know the training without pay s*cks, but unfortunately XJ will have a hard time growing. NWA needs Pinnacle to grow for pension and IPO reasons. So you would probably be better off at 9E, but you never know.
If they are hiring, where can I apply? The website doesn't have a posting for it at all. Is this like Skywest's deal where its running out of internal recs?
