I don't know if anyone besides me saw the 1/4 of a page advertisment in USA Today. Are they really having that much trouble finding pilots. No wonder the airlines are losing millions of dollars a day. We have the brilliant people in managment advertising in a paper that is only read by airline pilots and business travelers staying at the comfort suites. Who knows, maybe they are trying to pull pilots away from other regionals? It does say that they have an industry leading 401K (my arse). Here is some advice for pinnacle, have one recruiter leave a name and number on this message board, and I bet you have enough people call you to fill interview slots for a month. I wonder how much that add cost them, and anyway with pinnacle in the state there in now wouldn't it be more appropriate for them to advertise in the National Enquirer?

keep em comin!!!

I'm new to Pinnacle. Been online less than a month and already have over 100 people below me!! That rocks, keep em comin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes many of us saw it. IMO this makes Pinnacle officially desperate. They would be better off advertising in aviation magazines. If they changed their new hire and training policies they might find they're losing fewer pilots to the better regionals. They'll get a few street CA's from this I bet. Are they still doing that BTW?
(not that I'm interested; it's bad enough being a jr RSV biatch in seniority)

Disclaimer: You will be massively offended below

Under the CRJ in the USA Today advertisement it says "Safety. Professionalism. Dedication"; however that's a typo - it should read "Safety. Professionalism. Dedication...except at FL410."

Sometimes the truth is funny. If you're offended, go talk to Dr. Phil.

If they really are desperate maybe they should try paying their newhires instead of the other way around. This is probably the only industry where someone is willing to work for nearly two months without pay, benefits, etc.

Did they advertise any lower mins than 1500?

Hey cheap a** support commerce and go buy a USA Today!

1000/200
100 instrument (max 20 hrs. sim)
ATP written
First Class Medical
Valid Passport
FCC Liscense
21 years old (apparantley so you can drink on your overnights)
And the greatest of all you just need a highschool diploma! (But if you interview really well a G.E.D. will work)

If anyone in managment wants to send me a check for just accomplishing more than their add did today, please feel free to PM me.

hey hawkeye.....
you must have been up at Tall Paul's too long last night....

no one BUYS a USA TODAY....they are free everywhere!

sober up

Deceptive Advertising

A few more things the ad left out...

"Industry leading 401K" - Maybe 101K, 401K is a big stretch

Not mentioning that you have the prestegious option of choosing your own personal accomodations in the luxurious city of Memphis...on your own dollar

Employeement verification is available when you apply for food stamps

Calling maintenance is a rarity, we don't believe in it

I wish I was at Tall Paul, and Uncle Dale's! Instead I have way to much time on my hand sitting on reserve dicking around on flightinfo. But honestly, not has something so dissapointing since womens basketball NIT tournament results been published in USA Today as this advertisement for pinnacle.

As far as I'm concerned they could put up an Ad in the Middle of Times Square on New Years Eve, They are the last oufit I would join..............................................Geez No pay during training and no Hotel...............Come On Guys when are we gonna stop Whoring ourseleves out to the lowest Bidder, I mean I got mouths to feed, being a CFI looks more promising income wise right Now, rather than first Year pay at the majority of most Regionals

TOOL!

I guess the well has run dry down at GIA:rolleyes:

I thought it was odd the koolaid team was not scheduled down at ATL on the 16th. That means more of us can be down there and not get in trouble for being sick at a job fair!

Honestly, I have no idea why they are advertising like this.. we "may" have another 100-200 pilots to go before hitting the numbers for the 139 jets we are getting

Are those really their new mins. ?

I was under the impression that they are strict on their minimums of 1500 TT / 300 ME unless you're a GIA guy.

Also, what date of the USA Today did the ad appear in? Today (March 23) ? March 22? March 21 ?

Thanks!

Savings. Professionalism. Dedication
Guess mgmt better think about at least offering a large tent to sleep in outside the CEC during training.. it could be like M*A*S*H.. without the homeade distillery
Tent= around $200, USA Today ad = $??thousands.

Yes, apparantley those are the new mins. It was published in the sports section today March 23rd. I shouldn't post this though, it a shame so many people will be willing to work for free at the pinnacle sweat shop (also known as CRJ ground school) for two months.

This isn't the first time an airline has advertised in USAToday. I can't remember the name of the company for the life of me... But a decent-sized regional advertised with a half-page ad in that paper in, uhhh, '98 or '99. I seem to remember it being a company out in the western half of the country (though everything was "western" from my perspective, being on Long Island at the time).... SkyWest, maybe? Don't recall. Whoever it was, I sent them a resume and never heard anything more back from them aside from a postcard.

Our company website states 1500/300.. IF they dropped the min's.. I know there will be a lot of angry guys...

The company in USA Today years back I thought was Horizon.. Regardless, it is not the first (nor the last) time.

What is going on with Pinnacle and GStream anyway. I heard they cancelled alot of classes for new hires from GStream and now they are advertising in USA Today. Wonder if theystill a have an in the works?

Funny I just heard that the GIA deal may be over with. The strange part is the koolaid club was suppose to be heading to FLL to hire about 80 this month.

That should have been enough with the Indy Air and other outside people to complete hiring.

You can only go so far with too many low timers before the insurance companies start getting nervous.. Let's be real, a good 1/3rd of our pilots have less than 1000TT and I am probably being conservative with that estimate.

I know a gal that has 380TT and 30 multi, just started class for pinnacle (she had some inside recommendations.......and not to mention affirmative action on her side). Only a high school diploma too.....no college eduction.

Me (white male)......I've got 3000TT, 4 year degree, loads of 135 single pilot, night freight, no accidents.......and currently no job.......been sending out resumes for the last month too......and no replies.

Life's a bitch.....ain't it?

I am going to send them about 100 false resumes so they can waste their time calling them all oh and by the way biz pilot you are overqualified.

I have flown now with a few 700-1000 hr wondersticks that have gone through the MESA (whatever they call that) program, and they are really scary in th RJ, with both their flying ability and their knowledge, they are gonna cause a crash soon!

She HAS to be a GIA graduate.

Not exactly...
She can do one of those "special" intern thingys we have.. Either being a scheduler, load control, clerk or some other low paying job for "x" amount of time and then get a seniority number. We have about.. 4-5 ladies who did that in the past year (notice I did not mention guys).

Let me guess though.. this woman is young, hot and single... Otherwise she WOULD have to be GIA.

Whaaaat ?

Interns or current employees?

Low paying job for 'x' amount of time, and you automatically get a pilot seniority number?

Please explain further, I'm

I have met and talked to many many pilots over at 9E. Most of the senior guys seem to have a pretty good handle on things in the industry and seem like a good lot. But holy crap, the ones with less than 3-4 years in...all I can say is wow. After reading this stuff everyday, I get more scared all the time.

I calculated the cost of my hotel during training. $4,500 dollars total for 45 days. Granted, I'm in a plush hotel, but not being paid salary AND having no hotel is a raw deal... May as well buy a type and fly corporate IMO.
