I guess that this author didn't take into consideration, of all the years of making less than 20k a year as an instructor and years at a regional making not much more than that 20k. What about the 30k +, on top of college tuition, we spend on getting all out ratings, or having to take a check ride every 6 months to keep our job. Oh ya not to mention the mandatory retirement from the airliner at 60 years old. These authors should look deeper into a subject before they type such stories.

i think the guy who wrote the article just put a few jobs in a hat and picked 10. it also mentions Wedding photographers, give me a break! not only do you work your a$$ off for 10-12 hours straight, running around trying to get the perfect shots, but then you have to deal with the crazy bride.
still can't believe pilot is on the list!

I'm sure Chris Pummer, the guy who wrote the article would love to get feedback. I already wrote him an email, but click on the above link to do so yourself.

Nothing with what the guy wrote, he wrote it from a point of view, he did pay attention to the plight of Regional Jet Pilots and the LCC pilots.

Same with actors, you don't think that every actor is making 30 million a movie? For every Tom Cruise there are thousands making menial pay.

Same with lawyers, not every lawyer receives the same pay as Johnny Cochran.

LCC = Low Cost Carrier. Average annual income of a Screen Actor's Guild (SAG) member: less than $1,500/year (yes, one thousand five hundred). I emailed this jacka$$ when he wrote this (11/6) . . . no response. Me: $28k/yr sole provider for family of four . . . definitely overpaid.

He left out the Hot Dog Stand owner. I personally know of such a person who pockets over $100K annually and has less than $10K expenses. He is the exception, so don’t rush out and buy a used hot dog cart. The key is having an income that is hard to track for tax purposes.

What would happen if it was a states or national law banning tips? My state how charges bartenders and waiters a percentage of gross sales of the restaurant. Even with this law, a majority of tips go unreported.
