Position Overview:
Overall Senior accountable manager with full P&L responsibility and accountability for all Company training and operational activities in the USA
Full participative member of the senior executive team to support the achievement of the overall business objectives of the Company
To create a highly customer focused training center to provide the highest levels of airline pilot training and service experience

Primary Responsibilities:
Primary management responsibility for the following training activities in the USA:
1. Fixed Wing Piston engine flight and simulator training
2. Fixed Wing aircraft type specific/radio communications training

To ensure that the Training Center is run as a safe flight training organisation
Management and support of an operational team made up of the following operational and training managers (and any future new roles):
1. JAA Chief Flight Instructor Airplanes (UK)
2. FAA Chief Flight Instructor Airplanes (USA)
3. Head/VP Operations
4. Finance & HR co-ordinator

The achievement of high quality, on-time delivery' aviation training services through close co-operation with the Company's Head of Training (HoT) and the Company's senior executive team
Relationship, liaison, cost minimisation and contract negotiations with the vendors who are the landlords and suppliers of maintenance, accommodation and fuel services to the Training Center
To ensure that all customers receive a standard of customer service which exceeds their expectations
To use best endeavour to ensure that Company profit targets, training timetables and resource utilisation targets are achieved
To ensure that the Company is correctly resourced at all times to ensure that training business activities are achieved at all times
The preparation of financial, performance and management reporting data to the Company according to a strict timetable
Effective and rigorous management and minimisation of all Training Center costs Direct and Indirect to agreed authority limits
Management of the productivity and performance target achievements of all Training Center staff through the management team
Primary responsibility for the effective management and utilisation of all flight training aircraft, simulators and flight training resources (Company owned or leased/hired) through the management team against performance targets
Liaison and contract negotiations with any external suppliers used for Company training activities
To ensure that the Training Center complies with the Company QA system at all times
Maintenance of a positive and healthy relationship with the FAA, UKCAA, TSA and SEVIS administration
Ensuring that all Training Center flight training facilities and documentation meet both JAR and FAR Approval requirements

An experienced and effective leader for both staff and trainee pilots alike
A commitment towards the commercial success of a new business enterprise
A genuine empathy and enthusiasm for training and the needs of young trainee pilots
An ability to motivate and earn the respect of a professional workforce and customer population
A proactive and can-do attitude to overcome operational challenges to get things done

An enthusiasm for the performance management of both staff and students alike to achieve the very best results

Essential Skills:
A minimum of a Bachelors degree and, preferrably a graduate level degree(or equivalent) in either a financial, management, economic or business administration subject
At least 5 years middle/senior experience of P&L company management
At least 5 years experience of managing others at operational management level
Extensive experience within a service industry
Highly IT/PC Literate
An excellent communicator at all levels
A strong desire to lead a new start-up organisation under challenging commercial pressures
The willingness to work extremely flexibly and to do whatever is required to achieve commercial objectives
