On the Piedmont note: they're advertising for new hire FO's to get some sort of one year transition to mainline(US Air), can't figure for the life of me how this might work?

Which doesn't matter unless you just upgraded. Mainline isnt gonna take a fresh FO.


It's a minimum of 3 per month that mainline is hiring up to a 25 percent maximum of total new hires. The minimum only applies to "qualified applicants" i.e., those who are not seat locked at PDT and those who actually applied. About 2/3 of our Capts are lifers so only about 1/3 of our Capts will actually want to go. 200 or so Capts total, so about 60 are looking to get out. Upgrading 4 per month lately so at that rate, in one year there will be very few "qualified applicants" who are Captains who are not lifers.

Kinda puts things into perspective on this "exciting" flow through or whatever they are calling it.
