What is the corporate world like in phx. Are there 50 pilots knocking on everyones door each day. Or are there good jobs to be had, knowing the right person.

thanks.

A guy with your experience and hours would have an advtange over most people, BUT it is VERY competitive, and you hit it on the head when you said theres about 50 pilots knocking on every door. The number is more probably like 100 for every door, but you get the idea! So knowing the right people and networking is the key to getting a good corporate job in Phoenix.

My opinion, based on experience having lived there for a number of years, is that if you dont have anything for you in Phoenix (family, wife's job, etc.) then I'd look in other markets. Phoenix is just too saturated with pilots and has been for the past three or four years.

Just my .02 !

There are several corporate operators here in SDL and PHX, but the ratio of pilots to opportunities is high. It really takes an inside contact to even have a chance at getting some of these jobs, but I would imagine it's the same all over the country right now. Good luck :)

I got a call the other day from the A/C mgmt company that runs the corporate aircraft for Intel out of Phoenix. I don't live there and have actually only been there once in my life... I think the call was prompted by the fact that I have a couple thousand hours of EMB time. I passed on the job, mostly because the pay, while a little more than I'm making in the right seat at my present job, wasn't that great... and with my wife leaving her job too for the relocation, it wouldn't make sense. Plus, if something should happen where I need more money, I've got the option of upgrading at work whenever I want - I'm just holding out for a better sched right now. So, it wasn't the place for me... but the schedule was phenomenal and I'm sure they had tons of resumes from folks in town. They still called me, in IL. Just posting this to make the point that it never hurts to try... it might be a tough market to crack, but you've sure got some solid experience behind you. Shoot off some letters/resumes, make some phone calls etc... just be prepared to be very patient!

What is going to happen to the EJM pilots that work the Intel contract??? Are they being laid off or do they have the option to go to work for the new management co?

My understanding is that they will try to keep ops as is with minimal changes up front, but that's not written in concrete.

The wife and I would ultimately like to end up in PHX. Any GV or GIV operators out there? Thanks in advance.TC

35K is what they told me ...

I didn't think it was my place to say... but since YOU said it - yep, 35k. What a fantastic sched though! And here's what's sad... it's still a little more than I make in the right seat after five years at CoEx. Of course, I guess I'd better quit holding out for a better sched and go back to the left seat now, since it seems my wife has become slightly pregnant. ;-)

I didn't think it was "classified" information, considering they willingly tell all their candidates.
