Steveair, can you discredit any of my claims?

You claim that FBW is bad and dangerous because the airplane will not "do" what the pilot wants.

I point out that every tactical fighter that the U.S. Military operates uses the same type of FBW and your response is.............nada.

It goes on and on. The only "fact" that you can sight is that I should "ask anybody" who has flown or worked on an Airbus or boeing product.

Well I have been a captain on both manufacturers' products. (I note that you have flown neither.) That means I qualify as "anybody"

As one of your "anybody(s)" I can categorically state that; The Boeing is absolutely no better than the Airbus in terms of performance and reliability.

As a taxpayer I am outraged that Boeing, a company that can't get anything out a hanger door on time, is wasting my money protesting this award.

Boeing is a company who has had their officers sentenced to federal prison terms for their role in attemting to defraud the government over tanker contracts.

I read the Air Force analysis.

The KC-45 is the better option. By a wide margin.

He can't/won't because he's a one-dimensional troll who read somewhere that "Airbus bad...Boeing good."

In Steve's mind, an Airbus pilot attempts to roll into a descending left turn, but the tricky french software commands a climbing turn to the right. Refute his claims? The only proof he needs is that a factory demo pilot put one in the trees. Nevermind the fact that you fly an Airbus and he doesn't, you're wrong.

Steve's understanding of the procurement process is NIL, he hasn't read the report, but because it's American, the Boeing is a better tanker. Question his beliefs? You're unpatriotic.

By the way, France is having a big sale coming up this weekend. It's a really good deal on some guns; they've never been fired but they were once dropped

Real big talk for someone who's never picked one up to begin with . . . . .

Mccain..t.hat traitor...

just give away jobs...

and folks, in ten years when these planes are falling apart i bet the air force will regret this decision.

why? he keeps selling out the american people...doestn that fit the bill?

Never mind, I should've read some of your previous posts before responding to your troll drivel. But since I have,........ by the time McCain was your age, he'd already served three years in a Vietnamese prison, ......you're flying a regional jet. Just think how little you can accomplish by the time you're his age!!!!!!!

These KC-747's aren't fly by wire.

Rallying Against the Tanker Contract on Capitol Hill
Last Thursday, I was joined by other Members of Congress, the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA), and the International
080417-tankers.jpg
Senator Murray and Larry Marrell, SPEEA NW Regional VP
Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) on Capitol Hill to denounce the Pentagon's short-sighted decision to give a $40 billion air tanker refueling contract to Airbus. At the rally, we discussed the Air Force's error in awarding the contract to a foreign-owned and subsidized company with an untested and less capable product than the Boeing KC-767. We also talked about the need to invest in America's workforce and aerospace defense industry here at home.

Last week, I also joined with a bi-partisan group of Senators to send a letter to President Bush that outlines our serious concern that the U.S. government has decided to award Airbus with this contract at a time when we also have a case against the European Union over the illegal subsidies it provides to Airbus. Our letter notes that awarding this contract to a company that is being given illegal subsidies hurts our efforts to level the playing field for U.S. companies around the world.
