Should he be allowed to be in the Hall of Fame or not.? Just curious what all you baseball fans have to say..:D

I think he should be allowed because of what he "accomplished" on the field but he still should be banned from being allowed to be back in the game as manager since the cardinal sin was done by him.

any thoughts.?

I don't think we should glamorize someone who lied to everyone for years.
He can make a profit with the (gasp!) timely release of his new book. The whole mess stinks.

Character and integrity are among the requirements for the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Why lower the bar.

It is a fact he used his position in baseball to acquire inside information for his betting.

Do not let him in, it sends the message that accomplishments outweigh character defects. Don't we have enough examples of that already?

If you let him in then no more bitching about crooked airline management, they worked hard to get where they are, they deserve a break, OK?

Absolutely not, and he should not be reinstated to baseball. It's a pity for baseball that his arrogance has shamed such a brilliant career.

I haven't read my Sports Illustrated yet, but I saw on the cover where Rose told Commissioner Bud Selig that he bet about five times a week and did so because he figured he wouldn't be caught. Is that not arrogance with a capital A?

If Pete Rose were to be reinstated to baseball, then all the figures in the 1919 Black Sox scandal should be reinstated posthumously as well.

To carry it another step further, if Rose were to be reinstated after betting, than the NFL should wipe Paul Hornung's and Alex Karras' records clean. They were suspended from football for the 1963 season for gambling.

Good call....
He was a hell of a ball player. But I think he's STILL lying about those gampling documents and phone calls, and I don't know why he would. And he had the same dumb look on his face during the interview when he denied this eveidence was true. He admitted to previously lying, but he didn't come clean all the way.
Definately no on the call to come back to baseball. I could see him going into the hall of fame if he had come completely clean...but he just keeps lying. Too Bad.

"I'd walk through hell in a gasoline suit to play baseball." -- Pete Rose

He might have been one hell of a ball player, but he destroyed his honor by betting on his own team. Now he makes a weak admission of his deeds specifically to get himself into the Hall of Fame. No real remorse, just admitting the bare minimum to try and get redemption. At least Denny McClain had the decency not to shlt where he ate. Let Denny into the hall before Pete Rose... and Shoeless Joe Jackson, too.

Ixnay on letting him in the Hall or back in Baseball. Not only is his integrity marred beyond recognition, apparently he's not all that bright. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that if he would just admit he was wrong, the voters and the general public would look upon him more favorably. As one of the voters wrote, " he's not a very admirable fellow." Shame because I grew up a Reds fan and he was certainly one of the reasons.

I might be inclined to say let him in the Hall only but that requires his reinstatement to baseball. His reinstatement to baseball would apparently also allow him to manage once again!

Therefore........Fuhhhhgetabouuuutitt Pete! Take your book money and retire in Puerto Rico. You can coach down there Pete! They do have good talent there.
