I was watching a program on local TV tonight and it was talking about bankruptcy... I was wondering how it would be looked at from an airline hiring standpoint? Would it be looked down upon if brought up during an interview-I'm gonna say yes "duh"? I am not, nor hope to never file, but I was realizing this day and age a pilots extreme lifestyle compared with his pay can be a difficult position. Then again, airlines seem to file bankruptcy like its nothing nowdays... Thoughts, ideas, opinions?

I cant imagine HR letting them ask that....

and Im not sure if/which airlines do credit checks (?) - however, I do know it happens in the corp world (credit checks) depending on your industry - finance etc..

Imagine that...you are sitting a XYZ regional airline interviewing for a $hitty job that pays about 20K/yr...

"bankruptcy?....well...not YET...but hoping to be there in about a year sir..."

 ....

I don't know of any airline that does ask this question. I do know that if you decide to do the ATC Route, a good credit is expected if you want to get hired. I know of current pilots/doctors/lawyers and I'm sure the very individuals that run your airline have declared. It used to be that many individuals declared bankruptcy after completing college and grad school but things have changed since then.
