Is there a way to get performance charts, say for a cessna 172r that are a little bigger than the ones in the POH. The printing on these is so small, it makes it tough to follow the lines etc...are these charts specific to each airplane or are the general enough to use on all 172r's?

specifically the Takeoff Distance Chart, that has press alt -- weight -- wind component -- obstacle

Have you considered making a copy of the chart you want with an enlargement? Just ask at your local Kinkos or whatnot for help. To answer your other question, they are specific to the make and model, not the N number. If you install certain modifications on an airplane you might get a different set of charts, but for your basic 172R, the charts are all the same. You may have noticed in your training already that actual performance doesn't match up with the predicted performance though (particularly for the t/o and ldg data), so I wouldn't worry about trying to find an exact number off the graph; always add a margin of error/safety.
