Anyone know good places to eat food while flying local out-and-ins in the Pensacola area? I know Monroe Co. and Florala, but that's it... any help would be appreciated.
Mobile Regional had free Domino's pizza, that is if you call Domino's pizza good eating. Hammond, LA had the loaner vehicle to go to the deli and get sandwiches (or a muffaletta) with a voucher that they gave you. If you can go that far, there is always Acadiana, LA and (best of all) Chennault, LA - where they get the rest. to deliver some real good food Mon through Sat. A lot of other places (Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, Tallahassee had courtesy vehicles but no vouchers deals on the food)
Last I heard, the free pizza for military pilots got changed from Mobile Regional to Modile Downtown. Tallahassee is a good place to go - they will usually give you a set of wheels so you can go downtown and eat while watching FSU coeds walking by.
All good places... have been there many times. But, as the Alert crew, have to stay within Alert area 292. Any other places in there? I will be going to Hammond next week.
Pat, are you going to Texas this weekend? Might have met someone else who knows ya'.
"Chennault, LA - where they get the rest. to deliver some real good food Mon through Sat."Anybody know the name of the place in Lake Charles (Chennault) that has the sandwiches with jalepano mayonaise? When I was doing my solo x-country for my private I had a T-38 IP and stud take me to lunch there and it was awesome. I'm thinking of flying back there but I can't remember the name! Anybody know what I'm talking about?
