A while back there was a thread requesting information on performance calculators that work on Palm and PocketPC devices.

Since UltraNav has not supported these devices for some time now, I thought it would be helpful to make everyone aware of EFB-Pro from CAVU Companies.

CAVU supports most of the popular jets and turboprops out there and will build databases (usually at no extra cost) for limited production jets like the Falcon 200. Besides being much less expensive than UltraNav there are a number of features not found in that product, such as the ability to use standard weights for loading and compliance with the new AC on weight & balance reporting for 135 operators. Acukwik is another feature not available on other performance calculators. Besides supporting Palm and PocketPC, EFB-Pro also runs on Windows based PCs such as pen tablets and laptops.

PS. There is no truth to the rumor that the Palm operating system (nor the PocketPC operating system) are not as stable or precise.

Good to go? I seriously doubt that. UltraNav no longer supports the Palm or PocketPC operating systems. So if you spend $1000 on software, do you really think its a good idea to buy a used m100 to operate it on? Its like buying a brand new software program and looking on ebay for a Radio Shack TRS-80 to run it on. Beware, its anyones guess how long a used m100 will run, thats very old technology. So what do you do with the $1000 program when the system dies?

More importantly, they are not updating the databases for those versions. We get updates all the time on new performance charts, contaminated runway charts etc.

Many past ultranav users have migrated to EFB-Pro, one because it only costs $399 versus $1000, it has more features and it operates on all current OS including Palm, PocketPC, Windows and Pen Tablets.

They are truly good to go.
