Guys,
A friend of mine asked me a question if the Pilatus is able to taxi backwards. Meaning do the blades go in negative angles i.e there is revers, right?

This is also true in the Caravan. I may or may not have seen it done before. I think most with full reverse capability can accomplish this.

I've done it both with the PC12 and a King Air 90. It's not the best thing in the world for the prop, but if you're in a pinch, it'll get the job done.

In a pinch, you can back up the PC-12 using Beta. However, keep a VERY close watch on your oil temp should you do this. Putting the prop in beta reverses the propwash and prevents cooling air from flowing through your oil cooler. As said earlier, do not use brakes to stop... just bring the PCL out of beta and add a little power if needed.

For giggles i tried it in a van simulator, and used the brakes to test a "hypothesis". Didn't work out well for me and glad I did it in the sim to get the spur out of my butt to do it.
