I heard that you can go to Washington in person and get a passport the same day. Is this true? If so, can somebody lead me on where exactly I would have to go?

Thanks

Actually there are several passport offices around the country. If you bring your application in early in the morning with a letter from your employer stating that you need a quick turn for work purposes, you will have it by early afternoon. Usually they like to have some details like when you are leaving, but for pilots and the like they do not need those type of details.

Passport

You can always FedEx with a return pre-paid FedEx pack and get overnight service. Also there are Passport services with 24 hour return and save the trouble of going in person.

I have used both.

Ain't Google great?

My passport, logbook and laptop were stolen in ORD. I spent most of the next day in downtown Chicago getting it replaced. Cost $138. Don't know about original issues or replacements but the website above has all the info. you should need.
