I have just one quick question. I have heard nothing but good reviews for ATP and will be going there to do my multi and CFI ratings. I was just wondering if anyone knew what ATP's passing rate was? I searched the forum and could not find it. Thanks!

God question, I'd also like to know. I plan on heading down there in mid summer for the 10 hr ME rating. Is 10 hrs realistic?

10 hours is plenty for a Comm-ME add on, at least as far as passing the checkride. Just remember that in this day and age, you'll be hard pressed to find an insurance company to let you fly it solo, though. More and more I'm seeing 25 in type being the minimum unless you already have 50-100 of multi already under your belt.

It is more than enough, you should have zero problems if you put the hard work and effort into your training/ground study.

I think the pass rate is rather high on the rides there but this also depends on the applicant. If you are prepared to pass then the fail rate(s) should not apply to you. you will either be ready or not be ready and I would think that your mei would make sure you have the required training to pass on attempt I before you get that oh so important signature in your logbook. You may want to consider Airman Flight School in Norman, I cannot say enough good things about the cfi/cfii/mei set up there. You will actually take the CFII as the initial (141), then the I as the "add-on".

Fussle,
I'm going to ALLTPs as well and have asked their instructors a number of times about the success rates. They each say that they don't keep statistics, but they agree it's a high number (85% or better). Good luck
