wellp, took my private ride this morning and passed it!!! wahooo!!!!

took it with 46.1 hours. heres the full write up!
! woke up at around 630, showered, had a good breakfast and was up at arlington at 7:40. Got the wx on the way there and the previous nights' outlook was purdy accurate! I WAS PETRIFIED about the oral. I WAS SO SCARED. first question.. "So tell me about a stall." Talk about an ice breaker. I felt great all through the oral, but got nervous when we approached regs, airspace, and wx, (side note... AROW.. i told him about ARROW, and he said nahhhhh no radio!!!

) Told him about my xc and everything. Told him I checked duat and no airmets or convect sigs we have to worry about... no notams. All the airspace we told was just basic day vfr req's and i got those right off the bat. That was fun. DIDN'T get drilled on wx at all. Just talked about resources available to us and I talked about the wind and how it feels nice on a hot day.... (what?!) Out to the plane. EXTREMELY Thorough preflight, double checked evertyhing and started errr up. everything good. halfway to my first checkpoint (8 minutes) he says lets divert. I whip it out and was right on for that. Then we did our maneuvers. Everything went great, minus me losing some speed on steep turns. I was more worried about the ALT than speed. went +- 10 feet on those!!! Emergencies and everthing went great and so did my turns around a point etc. It was great for my short field landing because we had a quartering tailwind and traffic ahdnt been reversed yet, so he'd give me some extra space but i still got her down on the field! ALL in ALL it was really cool, AND A LOT OF FUN!!! Laid back and not a grill session like i feared. EDIT: for my power out landing he told me to come in really high and do a slip WITH FULL FLAPS. Naturally, I thought it was a PIC trick question and he wanted to see if i would be say no looky on the placard, but he explained its not "suggested" to do so, but given that our engine was out, we could do it bc we need to get our asses on the ground. Good lord did that thing drop like a rock! fun!!!!

I need to work on my CHECKLIST USAGE!!!! I go step by step for my preflight/post flight but dont read em off on approach?! i just do my gumpfs and everything but need to get better with that!
