Just wondering if you get reimbursed for parking during training. I am flying out of LAX tomorrow morning for company indoc and was just going to drive myself to the airport and park. But when I spoke with someone from training a few days ago, they said the company did not pay for parking during indoc and that I would have to pay for it myself or have someone drop me off. Anybody recently go through newhire indoc and get reimbursed for their parking? Any advice would help.

If it is NetJets then the contract says,

20.8 Parking Fees at Domicile/Satallites
The company shall provide reimbursement for parkign expeneses for those pilos who use a Domicile/Satallite when no parking spaces are otherwise provided by the company at the Domicile/Satellite airport.

If you are a pilot and work for netjets then they have to pay for your parking regardless if you are in indoc, sim, flight training, or flying the line. The only place that has company provides parking is CMH.

I'm in aircraft training right now and I saw the class list for mondays class. Big class i think 28 or so people. Mine was 15 and then went down to 13!
Good luck and have fun!

Actually I have the exact same question. Since we are not covered by the CBA until we start on 9 Oct, will parking on the 8th be covered? I suppose if the company wants to split hairs then they don't have to reimburse. After all, your per diem doesn't start until 0800E on the 9th. Anyone done this lately?

See you at skool Dr. Seuss!

Which company?

Sorry, I guess I forgot to mention that. I was refering to NetJets. I thought it very strange that the company would not pay for my parking while I was in initial training. But I did ask M.B. about it and she said no. I was very surprised.

Since I'm just starting, for any of the LAX based crew - where do you park? Is there a certian lot better than others? Or any lots I'm not supposed to use? Do you think I should go ahead and park my car at LAX and try to get reimbursed even though this person said I won't get reimbursed? Someone told me she doesn't quite know what she's talking about, but I don't want to be stuck with a fat parking bill when I get back. Thanks for the advice. Cheers!

I can't speak for LAX but in Dallas 99% of us park at the terminal for $16.00 a day. The contract is clear they have to pay parking. It does not say WHERE you have to park or how much. So park close in and enjoy it.

DrSeuss et al,

You will be reimbursed for your parking expense at LAX. For the past 3 training evolutions, I have parked at both Lot B and Lot C, and been reimbursed without any problem. Lot C is much closer to the terminal than B, and it costs $10 a day. Lot B is $8 a day, but it is a long bus ride to/from the lot. Don't sweat it....just get a receipt, and file it with your expense report.

Welcome aboard.

"The company shall provide reimbursement for parking expenses for those pilots who use a Domicile/Satellite when no parking spaces are otherwise provided by the company at the Domicile/Satellite airport."
