What to do? Just landed in Panama last night, here until Mon. or Tues. Going to the canal today, but what else is there to check out during the day, as well as young night life' bars and clubs? Thanks, have a great holiday weekend. The Shamus!

Do the jungle canopy tour. Not a bad way to spend a day. If you like fishing go to Gatun lake and get some peacock bass.

Balboa yacht club. (long time ago). Have a Soberana and enjoy.
"Yo tengo una amigo importante en la embajada de Americanco"
might get you out of a tight spot.

I can't give you exact places to go, but a guy I know that flies out of Banyan has been there a few times, and it said it was more fun than Vegas. Everything is cheap, and lots of hot women. I guess there was one area with a large amount of bars and clubs that he went to. He said he felt safe, and he got by just speaking english.

Well, well.

A post I can speak with some authority on :)

Bennigans is a hot place. It is on Avenida Balboa in the Extreme Planet building. Just west of the MultiCentro mall. Note that the bar is a whole lot bigger than the restaurant and is on the west side of the building.

NEXT Disco is another big palce and usually starts at about 10 pm. It is right down the street from Bennigans.

Food is very good here:

Restaurante Beruit – Near the Marriott Hotel across from their casino
Del Prado on Via Argentina is a good cafeteria open 24 hours a day
Costa Azul is another 24 hour cafeteria right between the Marriott and the Riande Continental on Calle 50E
El Trapiche on Via Argentina
Tre Scalini
Limoncillo
Gauchos on Calle Uruguay
Pencas out on the Amador Causeway
Mi Ranchito also on the Causeway
Jimmy's near the Ceasar Park
Paladar in MultiPlaza
La Novela -- A terrific little vegetarian place on Via Argentina
Madame Chang's
Lung Fung for Chinese food and especially a Chinese breakfast.
Bennigans if you have a taste for a big burger.
Pomodoro
The Wine Bar
1985

(These last three are Chef Willy's restaurants and are usually quite good).

Casinos are plentiful. Via Veneto being the newst one.

PM me and perhaps if my schedule permits, we can meet for a cafe.

I was there a couple of weeks ago! You must go to the Havana Cafe at nighttime. It is directly across the street from the Marriott.

For seafood, try La Cascada, located on Balboa Boulevard, about a mile east of the American Embassy.

DISCLAIMER

If the girl is from Colombia, 99% chance she is a prostitute.

NO, I am not saying all girls from Colombia are prostitutes. What I AM saying is that 99% of girls in Panama City dressed to the hilt and "friendly" with you are indeed prostitutes.

None in PC since the bay is so polluted-- Beaches west of PC are better for surfing though I think Costa Rica probably has better surf. I am not an expert on the waves here but I have had experienced surfers tell me this.

Hows the surfing there?

Ran out to Santa Catalina, good swell, lots of real nice lefts, the boat driver was awesome.

Girls..... I sealed the deal the last two nights with different girls, and didn´t even have to pay for it. I guess being a Gringo has its advantages, all though I did have to shell out a whoping $3 for her taxi ride home. Real estate is pretty good down here too, Í think they are going to have to find someone else to fly back, because I´m not leaving, anyone know how to fly a 60, lol.

Thanks for all the good input, hope you guys enjoyed hearing about my stay!

yahooooo 200th post!

Just got back from a few days in Panama. Panamas big boom right now is attracting retirees from the states. Heck the way corporations are raiding employees retirements, people have to manage with a lot less money. And Panama wants to help with that. It is still a 3rd world country though, so I don't know much about their Health Care system/quality.
The real estate developers are trying to get " snowbirds" to buy Condo's there instead of S. Florida.
Stayed at the Panama Mariott. Nice hotel. I generally thought the food was fair, not great. I do recommend restaurant Beirut, across the street.
You have got to go to " La Palace". Absolutely the most beautiful young women we have ever seen at a " Night" club. A bit pricey though. But, it has to be seen.
Ave Uruguay has a quite a few " locals" clubs. Golf is Ok in Panama.
We were not terribly impressed with our Handler in Panama, everything seemed to need to be asked for twice. And Catering was a bit Sub Par.
