Would any Pan Am Instructors be interested in moving to Naples, Florida iso Arizona?
We are a medium sized flight school looking for some more dedicated people.
Before you sent you resume and cover letter please have a look at our website
at www.eaa-fly.com so you know what you can expect to work with.
Some commitment would obviously be appropriate, we are not looking for people intending to move on in 2-3 months.
We feel we can offer an interesting and diverse working environment in return.
(edit..we are not only looking for ex Pan Am by the way..)

?!? Umm, that's why people CFI. To move on. I think you're scaring a lot of people with that comment, i.e. if they move on you'll blackball 'em. That's how I take it atleast.

Also, from your website:

"The biggest and most modern fleet in Florida". Hmm, maybe you haven't seen this company yet.

I still stand by that comment, depending on experience we need to put a lot of time and effort in guiding/coaching and training a new CFI to work with the equipment we have and to the standards we are trying to uphold.
Somebody looking for a 2 month gig is not going to cut it.
Sure, everybody moves on, that's not my point, no problems with that.
We treat our flight instructors nice, not like prostitutes like a lot of other places. Trust me I know I have worked for those places.
That does not mean we can be taken advantage of left and right like in the past.
I'm still a CFI first and have no patience with people that don't care about their students because they are planning on a "real" job in 2 months.
The job you hold now is the real one till you change.
Anyway enough said, if you are looking for a nice place to work( and we are really not trying to tie you down for the rest of your life) send me an email.
And by the way on the website it says " the biggest fleet of C172SP in SW FLORIDA" that is still true.
Kind regards,

:)

Good luck, you seem very sincere. Having owneda FBO with quite a bit of flight training involved, I know about what you speak. It seems to be such a mixed bag, we as owners hope to get some continuity in instruction, but "younger" CFI's just see it as a stepping stone, and a very small stone it is. I allways hoped to have an instructor for at least a year, but that was hard to do. Of course I had a pretty active charter side, so it seemed they were droioling for twin time.

And, as a whole the FBO industry has seemed to treat CFI's as cheap help. Shame the most important person in aviation gets paid the least. Just not sure what the cure is.
Anyway, I'm out of the house side, now I fly and instruct for the fun of it.
Hope you have great success.
