They are looking for Caravan captains. Anyone fly for them or know if they are a good company? They have jumpseat and non-rev agreements with some majors (not sure which) and seemingly ok benefits. Any idea what they start their captains out at?

P.A.C.I.F.I.C. Wings.

They start at around $23k/yr for captains and $8/hr for "F.O.s" The jumpseating is great. Pretty much any airline you can imagine with American being a major one and Northwest being another. When I worked there American treated me like a king every time I jumped on them. Northwest was pretty great too.

Company culture is one of fear and threats. You will be sold out as a captain if the company will benefit from doing so. Don't expect agents at any outstations, you will be responsible for checkin, weighing bags, filing flight plans, briefings etc. This could change with the NM operation, but I doubt it.
While I was there, two people completed their one year, $10,000 training agreements. No one else stayed more than 12 months. Do not ever work for PW, or any company they run. It is a horrible, horrible operation run by very immature and ruthless people.

In case I wasn't clear enough, DO NOT EVER WORK THERE. EVER.

So, what you're saying is, don't work there?

Thanks for the heads up! 23K per year for captain SUCKS. Otherwise, I'm used to working for companies that work on threats, stupidity, and total disregard for peers.

Thanks again.

No worries. If I can prevent someone from going through what I did, I consider it a good day. I, too am used to working for those types of companies. Luckily I found one that's the polar opposite so I'm pretty happy right now. They do exist!!

You have NEVER worked for a company like PW's, trust me!

Does anyone know what routes they are going to do? I imagine they're gonna take ABQ-SKX, but what about GUP, ALM or LRU? Those are gonna be tough on passengers in summertime in an unpressurized airplane!

Rio Grande Air paid better than that back in 1999. I am not sure what Westward paid when they tried it in 2004

I heard Westward paid their Capt's 30K and FO's around 23K, but that was for flying a PC-12 on those NM routes. I checked with a buddy who worked there, and he said Westward also had ramp agents everywhere.

Agree with above...working there is one of the worst things you can do.

Place is the biggest joke...crap pay, almost worthless time, and a bunch of jackasses running it. Especially that gay one that "sucked" sucked his way up.

Great windsurfing on Maui though!
