Anyone know anything about Owens Corning Flight? I sent them a resume' some time ago and was later told that they had filed bancruptcy and were downsizing. I saw today that they have a couple of Hawkers, a 2000, and something else.

CORNING

Corning Glass, if that's the company your talking about is huge. They have like 3-4 Falcon 2000's and a bunch of commuter size planes that they use as shuttles. I was up there last year and they didn't seem like they were downsizing to me.

Check the corporate board, there are some recent posts about Owens Corning. I believe they are selling a few of the falcons.

Okay then, I'm an idiot. THIS IS the corporate board, whoodathunkit???

New reply:
Check some earlier posts about Corning, I believe they are downsizing.

Maybe I should go get something to eat, or at least stop hitting the crack-pipe before 1500.

I believe they're asking about OWENS CORNING (ie..The Pink Panther fiberglass insulation people...) Not Corning (i.e.: Corning Glass, out of Elmira, NY)...

Check out Owens Corning's web site, it discusses the company's bankruptcy reorganization... What's going on with the flight department is anyone's guess...

Me again. Someone help me out here as I thougt Owens Corning was Corning Glass. Again, maybe the crack pipe is catching up with me again, or maybe I'm not using enough. Who knows?

Anyone know for sure?????

Don't know about the status of the company, but Owens Corning is different from Corning Glass. I was stuck with one of their crews about a year ago in Lynchburgh, VA when the FAA closed airspace around nuclear powerplants. They were flying a Hawker, and yes their polo shirts had the Pink Panther on them.

Thanks all for the responses.

I fly for a company thats in the same type of industry and I was hoping that maybe this could possibly get me a leg up... it's a stretch, but what the hey....

After further review, the bancruptcy is in reaction to the asbestos trouble of a few years ago. No big deal really, just for lawsiuts I guess.

Thanks again,
DJ

Claifying...

The Corning flight dept. w/the pink panther would be the Owens Corning flight dept. based in Toledo. The last I knew they hadat least a Hawker and some 2000's. They used to have a 900EX, and I cant confirm if they still have it. This company did file Chap. 11 awhile back, with all the asbestos' litigation etc.

The CORNING flight dept. located in Elmira, NY. IS and HAS been downsizing. They had a division in N.C. that has closed I believe. The portion of the dept. in Elmira, is still operating 900EX's and 2000's and some Dorniers'...I hope this helps...
