Just wondering if anybody else out there is considering this.

I got an "offer" from AAI (Air Atlanta Icelandic) for a pilot slot overseas and I'm looking to see if:

1) anybody else is considering taking one of their classes or is already working there.

2) what is this interview and/or assessment?

I know quite a bit about them (including all the downsides, so no flaming please - I just want facts) including their new hiring company which changed last Nov. But I have never heard of a formal interview or assessment for their pilots previously, so, what gives? Is it just a formality? I know what psycometric tests are but do they also require a sim evaluation? Just curious for a heads-up.

In my position - laid off and no longer current on anything PLUS unemployed for over a year and now, no source of income, I'm sure you can fully appreciate why I'm looking into this. A job is a job and any job is better than nothing, right? Correct me if I am wrong, show me where there is job waiting for me after more than a year of trying, and I'll be there tomorrow.

I guess if this all pans out, I might as well consider myself "outsourced"! That's all the rage right now and I have to do what I have to do.

Thought I'd mention that last piece so I would not be flamed for even considering this outfit. This is the state of aviation today and it's sad that sometimes people have no choice left but that's the way it is and it's called survival. So, any ideas about this? I'm thinking it is a mere formality and if you interview, you get the job. I know they are looking to hire up to 300 pilots for their various worldwide bases on all 3 aircraft.

Thanks for any and all advice.
