I'm sure it's been asked before... as a reservist that's coming off of prog tour orders next summer, how soon before my orders end do I want to start applying to every place under the sun?

thanks in advance

The whole process should start about 18 month out. That includes getting your ATP, medical, FCC RTOP, checking out your FAA record, driving record, sim prep, interview prep, etc. etc. The paperwork and ratings obviously come first, then application, interview/sim prep, etc.

You may have some of that already. If you start early, it makes the transition a little less of a thrash. Applications should probably go in at least a year out from when you're available. Not hard-fast timeline but getting prepared early will help in the long run.
Good Luck
