I have to get between ORD and MDW on my commute next week. Looking forsuggestions on the quickest way to do this. I hear that there is a busservice of some sort as well as the "L" I know I could cab it, but I'mkinda broke these days being an airline pilot and such. Looking forexperiences of others that have done this.

There are shuttles between the two, I think it's about $20.00. You can take the "L" but I think it takes about an hour and a half. The shuttle (van) took me 1 hour.

Cheapest way is to take the "L". You can get on the "blue" line at ORD and take that to the Clark/Lake stop. Change trains there and get on the "orange" line and that will take you directly to MDW- it's the last stop, so you can't miss it. It will take you about 1:15- 1:30 minutes, but it only will cost you $1.75 The Omega shuttle goes between the two, takes 45 min. WITHOUT traffic and costs 14.00 (I think they give airline discounts, so it may be cheaper) Avoid the cab ride if you can- that may get $$.

If you're going to do it on a regular basis I like Coach USA (Wisconsin Coach). They give a 50% discount but you have to buy a book of 10 at $6 a pop (discounted price). More than the "L" but takes about 40 minutes and is a nice comfy ride.

cargo- I'd have to agree with what everyone else has said here. I've done it both ways and can't beat the L for the price, but it did take almost an 1:30 each time. The van shuttle I have taken cost 18-20 and still took an hour with moderate traffic.

thanks for the info. Hopefully it will be a one time deal as my trip ends late that night and I think this is the only way home!

Another vote for the L. It ain't that bad.

I took the Omega Shuttle, they give you an airline discount. I think it is around 20 bucks and under an hour.

I took the L earlier this week. Worked very well and would do it again. Thanks for the input folks!
