Good, maybe now they will stay out of the AWAC crew room.

Mayday

Is this flying for united or delta?

Are you kidding--last time I checked chicago is not a hub for delta.

Anyway--about this new base, how about all of the base closures for chit-taco when Air willy starts flying for Airways?

Doubt it. Our cheap-ass mgmt will doubtless give Air Willy 20 bucks a month to stick a computer and file cabinet in your room, rather than get us our own.

Capt. MD, it will probably go VERY senior for captains. Lots of people in the midwest have been lighting candles for an ORD base for a long time...

What?

Your management will pay $20 bucks for a crew room?

TSA had us sit for 5 hr layovers in BWI with no crewroom. We had to hang out
at Taco Bell. Till they toss us out for bringing our bag lunches.

What about for FOs? Whaddya guys think?

Hard to say. Senior is a relative term since all FOs in the 170 are newhires or UA J4J. (Most "senior 170 FO is a 5/04 hire date, IIRC).

It's a fair cop. CHQ flies UA stuff formerly flown by Air Wis, Air Wis likewise with U stuff formerly flown by CHQ. Each gloats that the other got stuck with flying for a BK carrier.

I love irony.

Don't expect to be greeted warmly if you should happen to find your way into OUR crewroom. In fact, you should expect to be shown the door. But hey, you fly jets right?

Yes, Twotter76, everyone at Chautauqua was solely thinking of downing your ship at Air Wis when they applied. You sound like a great guy.

Uh, hey, so do you there, spanky. BTW how did you vote on y'alls last CONCESSIONARY agreement? I don't blame you for doing so, being bent over by UA and all, but you've got an awfully glass-like house to be throwing stones at mine. Don't talk to me about any f'in bar unless there's beer there.

You must be a real pleasure to fly with. Oh and have fun with airways. Your company is like the guy at the roulette table who puts money on red AFTER it has come up black. Throwing money away.

here is what is going to happen...(in my opinion of course)

no awac crj200's for ual, only 10 or so bae 146's, 70+ rj200's for us air, for better or worse. as a 5 yr awac pilot tied to ual i can honestly say, i won't miss 'em. not that i expect us air to be any better, but enough is enough.

I will also be glad to see the end of UAL after all the years of $hit they have thrown our way. Still after to email from the center of the universe today tha may well be happening sooner than later, at least for some of our UAL flying.

Still on the brighter side of things, we now have a 20% ownership of USAir, 10 year agreement to fly AT LEAST 70 CRJ's upto 90 seats, and board members who can choose who flies USAir Express. So maybe we will see more growth and soon.

Have fun with Airways. Especially in PHL. I hope the rampers treat you guys better than your rampers treat us in ORD.

Come on guys the rampers treat awac just the same as they do anyone else....lol
It could be worse you could have the guys from Iad(dgs)..
Hey that might happen real soon to if the great powerhouse yonited feels like kicking us out. I just wonder how long it takes to repaint 70 rj's.

maybe now you guys will figure out how to get to T10 correctly... (not playing chicken with the other airplanes taxiing around)

good luck, can't wait.

do you really think the ord rampers behavior is airline specific?? with the exception of a couple of guys that have been there for a looong time, they all suck. certainly can't argue with that, i just don't see how it is relevant to this thread. in a perfect world all ramps would be properly staffed with enough manpower, equipment, and motivation, but we all know how likely that is.

on the other hand, i really will miss ord and the what i feel to be the best ATC controllers in country.

Well I was being half sarcastic. However... when you've seen the utter incomptence that I have from Air Whisky rampers in ORD you almost have to suspend disbelief to think that they are not doing it on purpose just to force you to have a late departure.

Heck, maybe they won't, maybe our crew room will be theirs by then. Tone out of ATW Crowely memo today was not good. It looks like bad news is coming like a slow moving TS line on the horizon. And we're stuck out in the open with no cover.

Except on the east coast. Philly cheesesteak anyone?

Ugh... I've seen a few posts from some AWAC pilots that seem to indicate that they think that United is a nightmare and wouldn't mind trading it in for Airways flying... but let me tell you - the F-gates in PHL are a special kind of hell that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.

I know I've made dispariging remarks about ORD Air Whisky rampers, but their incompetence doesn't hold a candle to that of the PHL Airways Express rampers.

Philly: You pull into the ramp, you're part of a rap music video.

IAD: You pull into the ramp and no one understands anyone....they all speak different languages.

It's apples to oranges. Lets stop being bi tches and understand we're in this together.
