I’ve come to the conclusion that my current job is no longer worth risking my certificate. Its only 30-35 hours a month and all VFR SEL with no chance of anything else. I am eligible for the WIA funding to partially fund a type/checkout. I’m wondering about the possibility of doing some contract SIC. Even with Flight Safety training and 3000TT/125 multi could I be insurable? On average how many days a month do most contract pilots work? I’d be looking in the Midwest, between St. Louis, Des Moines, Lincoln, Wichita, & Tulsa. What kind of daily rates do the various aircraft have? If you know of any full time positions that would be better, but any constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated!
