Also, if someone is offering you your first type rating, don't be so quick to dismiss the opportunity. Type ratings are like money in the bank in our business. They make you more marketable, they enhance your overall skill level and resume, they prove that you can complete a professional type-rating course, after you successfully get one rating... additional ratings are usually not far off, and experience in the aircraft with the type is even more marketable... see what I mean?

These kinds of opportunities for people at your level are becoming less prevalent and should be considered quite a valuable prize. This could be a great step up for you in the business.
