I am a regional jet capt (reserve) with less than 1000hrs 121 PIC and it looks like a year and half to get 1000 , would you leave with less than 1000 to go to a frac like NJ or CS or stick it out until you get 1000.

Where do you want to end up? If your ultimate goal is SWA, stay where you are. If you want to work at a frac, then do it. With the state of the industry, fracs are no longer stepping stones.

Do you want to fly the man of fly people who buy tickets from the man?

QOL if better here as far as I'm concerned.

Part 121 for a major was like flying for a party cruise. Fun if you are single. Fun and potentially expensive if married.

AMEN Brother...

Thats the best advice you can give. In my opinion, NetJets (all divisions!) is a career move, a career job, and absolutely the best gig in the flying world.

I dont have much sympathy for the 60+ old airline guy who boohoo's about loading bags, and never knowing where he's going, and is only hanging out because his retirement got wasted. Or the 21 year old Flight Instructor who doesnt want to work at a Regional, so he tries to come here.

Frac Flying is what it is... It's not for everyone. Pilots need to find a flying job that makes them happy at work, regardless if it is Frac, 121, boxes, Corp. If your not happy at work, $ or benefits wont change your attitude.

Best of luck.

Go back on this Fractionals board and you will find many other regional captains asking similar questions and getting lots of responses over the last 4 or 5 months. I made the switch and I am happy.

I would have to ask, what is 1000 hrs PIC going to get you? Sure it's nice to have as opposed to not having but where are you going to get hired with 1000 hrs PIC. There are so many pilots with 1000 hrs PIC. Guess what I'm saying is, don't expect the aviation hiring Gods to call you when you get the 1000 hrs. It will probably be another couple years after you hit the mark.

Keep the Faith

If you are on the fence about coming to NJA...then don't come at all. There are people standing in line to come here that know that NetJets is exactly where they want to be.
