So Ken Oberstar wishes to stop this merger. I am thinking the merger is a good thing for all including other airlines??? He says it will create 3 major Airlines. If I am not mistaken there are only a couple of Major Airline companies. So why is it ok for big OIL and not Big Airlines. This will bring up wages and Profits. Any thoughts !

I sure hope not I think it is a great thing for all in the long run of this industry do most agree wtih this. what is the sediment on the street from the 2 pilot groups I would imagine raises in the future and a buyout of the old guys to get most back to work

Yeah , he opposed dal/nwa --- how did that work out for him- hes an idiot- hes like the ntsb to the faa--- ntsb can make recs but the faa canstill say fu.
Its a done deal it meets all the parameters closed by xmas!
NEXT!

Who knows or even cares what Ken Oberstar thinks about this merger...however, James Oberstar is the Congressman who has expressed some concerns about the merger of CAL/UAL.

Keep in mind Obama and Lahood are both CHICAGO GUYS. They will get whatever they want using any means necessary... This merger is a done deal given the location of the HQ in Chicago. Don't mess with those socialists!!!!!

Oberstar is a complete idiot - hopefully he is up for election and gets tossed like all of the rest of the liberal trash in congress

How could Oberstar agree with the DAL/NWA deal (despite the fact that NWA was based in his state of MN) and not the UAL/CAL deal? They are both very complementary and the deal size is comparable. How can you do one without the other? Doesn't make much sense...
