Hello Gang,

Just curious about this corporate stuff. Say a guy is living in Manhattan and is interested in becoming employed by a local flight department.

How would you find prospective employers? Website to find phone numbers, etc.?

I would assume most are based in TEB., which in my case would pose a problem since I am sans car, as most New Yorkers are.

If there's anyone that fits this profile, please feel free to PM me. I would like to hear how the lifestyle might be like, while still living here in NYC.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks again,

NERVOUS

i have a friend that is with out transport in nyc, he takes the path train and walks a mile to TEB. he has a 91 gig.

i'd bet he takes a cab in the heat, can't be that expensive if it's only a mile.

buy a car

my recommendation is buy a car like most of the americans!

It is not that expensive! Carage in city around 300-500 a month, insurance around 1200$ a month! Car anywhere from 1000 - 100000$ take your pick!

Cheers! I do it!

well a car is nice to have but depending on the time of the day public transportation can be quicker in the city. not to mention fudge tons cheaper.

I used to live on the upper west side. I took the 1/9 to penn st. then the LIRR to Farmingdale. Then a cab from train station to airport. I had a car in the city but found it easier to do the public transportation thing. Total commute time was about an hour and a half. Definitely can be done.

Do what most NY'ers would do, scam a sedan from your same sex partner.

Suggest you get yourself a car, then try TEB, HPN, FRG, ISP, SWF, MMU and maybe even TTN (drug HQ of the world). Without a car you are basically not employable - no operator will take a chance that you can't get to the airport on a pop-up. Good luck.
