Does anybody at NW know if international jumpseating privies are extended to dispatchers? Specifically Mesa dispatchers? I've got a friend who wants to know... thanks.

It depends on what the recipocal jumpseat agreement between Mesa and Northwest says.

There is a seperate page in Northwest's FOM about dispatchers who are jumpseating - just because the pilots can jumpseat does not mean that the dispatchers can.

Also, the FOM specifies if the agreement is international or domestic. I >believe< (don't hold me to this) that Canada and Mexico are not considered "International" when it comes to jumpseating - you'll have to ask a Northwest guy about that.

As I understand it, the captains at Northwest do not have disrection on whether they can let someone on the jumpseat, but I may be wrong.

Good luck - iaflyer

You may want to check around on the Regionals board. I recently read a thread that sounded less than friendly regarding jumpseat privileges for Mesa folks. I think if you use the search words "Skywest Mesa jumpseat" or something like that, you should be able to find it. If that doesn't answer your question, one of the posters may be able to help you.

Uh... thanks, I think. Since NW is a MAJOR airline, I think this is the right venue. The threads on the regional forum regarding Mesa are in responce to PILOT contract issues, not dispatcher issues. I am well aware of jumpseating procedures, reciprocities etc... I am an airline pilot.

Any NW people out there? I'm asking you folks who KNOW the answer, I'm not looking for a cat fight because the thread involves Mesa, I'm not looking for obvious answers. Just the simple answer to the simple question, CAN MESA DISPATCHERS JUMPSEAT INTERNATIONALLY ON NW???

Thanks,

FO

According to a slightly outdated FOM, Walk up XCM for US domestic Certified Pilots, PFEs and Dispatchers is authorized. Mesa was also on the list of approved NWA/ALPA carriers. I'd still call the airport to make sure. Hope this helps.
