Let's say you get an interview at any carrier, or operation, and do not get the job. Is it over for you ever getting a job with that company? What if you apply again in a month...or 2 years. Is there a "wait period" before you can apply again.

What are the policies where you guys work regarding this?

It depends on the company. Most American companies give you at least two opportunities, spaced apart by a certain time (usually 6 months). Some give you only one opportunity, like JALways.

On a lighter note:

Tired of being rejected by the airlines after you put a lot of time and effort into getting ready for an interview? Next time you get that rejection letter respond with this:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear (name of airline)

Thank you for your letter dated December 1st. After careful consideration I regret to inform you that I am unable to accept your refusal to offer me pilot employment with your airline. This year I have been particularly fortunate in receiving an unusually large number of rejection letters. With such a varied and promising field of candidates, it is impossible for me to accept all refusals. Despite your outstanding qualifications and previous experience in rejecting applicants, I find that your rejection does not meet my needs at this time. Therefore, I will initiate employment with your airline next Monday. I look forward to seeing you then.

Best of luck in rejecting future pilot candidates.

Sincerely, (your name)

Now THAT'S funny! I almost snorted my Rum& Diet Coke (Zero carbs!!) out my nose!
