So, Dougie is going to sell 9 A-319's. Management master stroke or just another moronic move by the worst airline CEO in memory?:uzi:

Since NWA no longer helps pay the rent, I'm finding it harder to care.....

They dont need them anymore NWA sold themselves down the river by allowing the E-175s at Compass. They are going to replace the DC-9s and 319s with E-170's and half the pay. :puke:

Rumor central has determined that Spirit has acquired the soon to be ex-NWA 319's.

You don't have a leg to stand on either, at XJ flying the 900's!

I saw some of these already parked with logos removed in MSP as I was driving by.

A-319's

NWA tried to renogiate the leases on their terms with Airbus in bankrupcy and came up short. Airbus released the aircraft to a company in Russia. They are parked in MSP and awaiting to be delivered to the new owner. In today's market it must not be a problem for the lessor to find a new home for aircraft. they must have plans for the 170 and CRJ-900 to pick up the slack.

Huh? Like anyone at XJ ever had any say over what we fly here.

Now, NWA ALPA, on the other hand did have a say on XJ getting the 900's, and they said: "take 'em."

If NWA ALPA wants to recapture the 76 seat flying, there is a solution: merge the lists.

Besides, this thread is about bashing NWAs horrid management. Not pilots bashing pilots.

Hi!

My buddy told me that the new Bombardier "C" aircraft is actually the replacement for the DC-9. It will be flown at NWA as it has more than 74? 76? seats.

He also said the payrate for those aircraft will be lower than the DC-9 under the current contract. NWA should not get those aircraft until after the current contract expires.

Yuppy, again, if you wouldn't have sold your scope, this would have never happened at UAL...You have no one else to blame but the guy in the mirror for all the SkyWest, Go-Jets, TSA, Mesa, and other infiltrating ORD and all your hubs...........

mainline guys I'm sorry this sucks. Screw the regional pukes

Just remember that it was the "regional pukes" that made you "big leagues" money cause you could not compete with the LCC's in the states, the money you did make on your own was International flying! Enjoy the big leagues!

Great reasoning. You want to explain to everyone what "fee per departure" means? How many independent regional airlines are out there succesfully flying?

Anyone have the number to the FLYI reservations center?

Okay regional pukes tell me your casm on the barbie jets you fly...can't make money if we don't subsidize you...and thanks I will enjoy the big leagues...fools

The CASM is high on a 50 seat RJ, and somewhat lower on the 70 seaters. It would be slightly higher if those jets had been secured by mainline scope 10 years ago, but I'm sure if that were the case there wouldn't be an underclass full of small jet pilots as they would be "native sons".

Scope was sold at the legacies in exchange for payrates, pensions, and workrules. The loss was, among other things, mainline jobs. That choice has long been made...and its up to legacy pilots to decide if scope and those lost jobs are worth recovering.

lets see, i think NWA just crewed up in their bankruptcy. They thought they could screw over Airbus or the leasing company to force them to accept lower payments. They tried to play a hand they could not win. Now whats two things they need? Pilots and planes. Guess what? They have a short supply of both at a time where loads are at capacity and could be more later in the coming years. Its sad to see those aircraft parked, they are a testiment to the inept management at NWA
