Any Idea what customers I could pick up from their demise?

wow - while I never worked for thoes guy back in my 135 days I was based out of PNE and knew/know several that did fly for NE. Not cool to see a local avaition bizz go under.

Best of Luck

I used to fly into PNE with Airnet, too bad.. I used to see the fellow checkhaulers all the time. I really have a soft spot in my heart for on-demand 135.

Why do you cry for an operator who works for crap nothing, flies crap nothing (Azwrecks, SomAnolds and SentAcash) trainers to fly checks and pays even less to the very individuals that face some of the most adverse weather in the US every winter?

You knew they were crap when you were there yet it seems some other adversity caused their demise and you weep now?

I don't get it. That is exactly the same attitude that led AirNet to what it ISN'T today. Everyone just thought, I will keep my mouth shut, go with the flow and if I can make the cut, I could fly the JetRide side of the House? How is that working out for you now?

Buck up! Speak up! Make your owners and managers accountable for their risky management to pad their short-term gains? If you own stock, by law you have a voice at every shareholder meeting. If you end up out of a job, at least you will have a head start on the rest of the masses eventually guaranteed to follow when management destroys the rest of the company.

Oh, I know there is a whole pool of applicants ready to stab you in the back for less money. Those are SCABS! Take a real good look into their eyes on your way out the door letting them know you know their name, their face and that you will remember it for the rest of your life. Even the unions are all about the Management and forgot exactly who made them managers and sell out the underlings everyday because someone is smarter or has a better looking wife and kids.

Man Up Ya'll. Get some Giant Solid Brass Big Ones. quit biichen about the problem and DO SOMETHING!
Turn this train wreck around. You have to look no further than northeasts website and employment page to know what they are all about. Look at your own companies employment pages. Do you really want to attract that level of qualification to crew along side you easing your workload as PIC. I Submit to you that it is not.

The owner made money, mechanics made money, we made money, didn't work too hard and got a job because we could fly without a flight director. We cry because some of the best pilots we fly with came from airnet, Northeast, twin cities, AirNow, etc. My check haulin job got me my stinky pedigree six figure jet job and I don't recall ever stabbing or scabbing. It was handed to me on a platter because they saw me fly every night in my carhardt uniform de-icing with a broom and bug sprayer.

There's nothign we can do about progress in the banking business and fuel prices. It's just going to be harder for the next group of pilots to get that multi time.

And no, no business to pick up, i'm pretty sure they'll just drive what bags are left to PHL and put them on Airnet.

I agree with icefr8dawg, flying freight is a good way for some to live an adventure and to do something different. That sense of lifestyle calls to them and they enjoy it. Sure they want a better paycheck, doesn't everyone? But what a lot of us who do that job really enjoy is not the money. It is the flying. It's all a scale of balances. Should the job pay more, and if it doesn't is it worth it to you to do the job for the set amount of money. If you don't like the job don't do it. I've seen those who flew freight and loved it. I've seen those who flew it and hated ever last stink'n minute of it, and they left just as they should've. For the record, I've never scabbed and never will but sometimes I wonder if this whole contract/union bs sucks the energy and the life out of the profession. People get way to hung up about a minute here or a minute there. Did the bag door close on time? Is scheduling trying to intentionally and personally screw me or are they just trying to get the job done. I'll tell you what, I'm starting to think that on my death bed I don't want to be heard crying out "bag door... gotta close the bag door... out time... 2 minsssss.... arghhh.."
