I am a student pilot who should be receiving his licence in a couple weeks. After looking at a lot of schools I am almost definet on the North American Institute of Aviation. I was just wondering if anyone had any input on this school. Also I was thinking of getting a degree in buisness or airline management. If I go to this school it is not affiliated with any colleges. So does it make that big of a diffrence in my career if I forget about the college and just go for the experience.

Thanking any responders in Advance

Are you asking should you forget about college all together, or going to a college that has an aviation degree program?
You will need a degree, preferably a four year. There are different ways of going about this. You could take on line classes, get your ratings then go to college and flight instruct, or go to a college with an aviation program. There are other variations but these are probably the most efficent for someone in your position.

I would say go for the 4-year degree. If you haven't already read this thread, check it out:

Personally, I'd opt for a non-aviation degree in the event you find the (REDICULOUSLY LONG) road to the left seat of an airliner isn't what you expected. You've definitely got to be able to stick it out if this is what you really want to do. I know of people who get to about 8-900 hrs and decide they're tired of the B.S. that you have to put up with to get interviewed, and then the enormous amount of B.S. you have once you get to a regional airline. Just my $.02.

Another degree debate?

While others will argue to the contrary, the short answer is "yes." Go to an accredited college and earn your four-year degree. Your eventual competition will have their degrees, so you should not disadvantage yourself.

Try using the search feature on the board and research "college," "degree," etc. for more input. Good luck with your plans.
