How much success are the non-RVSM guys (those of us "lucky" enought to fly turboprops) having requesting say 290 or 310 to clear tops, etc ?

Have you found the controllers in your area completely deny it, or do they allow it traffic permitting?

I hear "NASA" flights all the time at 410+, non RVSM

rvsm airspace stops at 410, what nasa is doing is what many as myself do in an old lears and such. request atc to climb through rvsm airspace and stay above it. luck of the draw. i've been denied the climb through in the past. i would put the request to climb to 290-310 in a non rvsm airplane about at a 1% chance.
