So the local Class Six tells me today that they are no longer stocking Jeremiah Weed. I'm sure many of you are familiar with this beverage, and it happens to be my favorite Bourbon. (I know it's cheap trash, but I dig it.) It isn't available in my state liquor stores, so AAFES used to be the only place to pick it up around here. Any of you happen to know if this is an AAFES wide thing? Is it available at your six? Pisses me off. :uzi: Now I have to order it off the internet like a 12 year old.

Sorry to hear your Weed supply is drying up. Just for my own info..... Do many 12 year olds actually purchase Weed over the internet? Just another reason I wish I had the internet when I was a kid.

Also, Weed is actually a Bourbon Liqueur. So, you can still have a favorite bourbon, too.

"Jeremiah Weed was a man of action... he knew what he wanted, and he took it..." Something like that!

I always enjoyed it when we had sq. visitors on Fridays, and at COB, the chant went up:

Weed! Weed! WEED!

The visitors got all big-eyed, like they were about to see a squadron of .mil pilots whip out a big party bong and a few blunts. When they found out it was a drink, they were disappointed only up to the point where they had a shot.

One of my favorite scams in the beloved 27th FS....Squadron Commander "Bones," oft times somewhat unable during the normal day to speak eloquently, would find courage in the bar during Roll Calls. Quite often he'd yell "shot o' WEED!" at any minor infraction of the sacrosanct rules. The offender would have to take a shot to shut the man up. Made for slow going, especially during the "stories" stage of the event.

One Roll Call, the Mayor and boys decided to turn the tables. Four bottles of weed were procured--three empty and one full. The empties were filled with dark Lipton tea, and all were chilled to within a fraction of their life in anticipation of the Friday main event.

During that particular Roll Call Bones yelled his normal call of the wild, and others joined in frequently. All took shots, though Bones had no idea his was the only shot glass filled with the real stuff. Soon, he was happy and verbose. By 1900, he was absolutely rat-faced, only to realize that the wives were now patiently waiting to enter the bar for an official squadron gathering. Few wives were impressed. The boys were giddy with a successful scam.

As for Bones, the only fact he understood was that the Earth was trying to fling him off the face of the planet by mere centrifugal force alone.

He was a bit more subdued in the bar after that.

That ain't right.....

Eagleflip, good scam. Getting the wives involved was a nice touch.

Buying a round of milk shots for visiting marines at the O-club was another standard ploy. They weren't amused, but after a "friendly" game of crud, we usually ended up having a great time. With crud, Marines made up for a lack of skill with a brutal and punishing style of play.
