If you happen to see the AOPA website issue regarding NJ Congressman Rothman's recent request to get a 15 Mile ban of all GA A/C from NY City, here is the history behind his motives. He's using the pretext of Homeland Security to further the battle that he and his N.O.I.S.E. group have been fighting for years.

I don't have a problem with reducing A/C noise by requiring updated jet engines which are supposed to be quieter (which is one of his proposals). But he's jumping on the bandwagon and trying to seize an opportunity while the general public is in hysterics about planes crashing into buildings everywhere.

As a NJ resident, I'm writing him immediately explaining my disgust.
