Union site is down, so who can settle this for me. 1000 show for a 1500 go. Partner says its not a good brief, illegal b/c 3 hrs is max standby. I say we are legal, good plane good crew. Who is right?

You're right.

Good plane and good crew, you're good for the whole duty period with no standby time accrued. That's "Flight Asset Duty," and is a valid flight assignment in accordance with 28.3(A).

Standby duty is not when you're sitting with an airworthy airplane and a full crew; keep that in mind. That said, there's no limit to the amount of standby duty -- it's just that they start paying you overtime after 3 hours of it, and double OT after 7 hours.

BTW, the union site's working fine for me; not sure what's going on with your end...

I am starting to think you are hard wired into the site. Maybe I will just call you Tron.

CA I think they owe YOU the beer!

Also,

Even if it were standby duty, that does not make it "illegal." It just means you would get paid 2 hours of OT.

The company is able to crew rot us again. They are just going to have to pay for it if they do.

Standby > 3 hours, you start collecting OT
Standby > 7 hours, you get 2xOT

They can keep you there on crew rot for 14 hours if they wanted to. They would just have to pay you 18 hours of OT to do it. $$$

FYI, at my current pay, that would be $1409.65.
