How long does it take to get any news good or bad?
I've got friends that were told they got the job 1 r 2 days after interview when they interviewed in august.
I was told wait 5 to 10 days.

Anyone else?

It's longer now, 2 or 3 weeks. They've recently started doing most of the background check (all except for your current employer) before calling you with the job offer. Seems like if they're turning someone down they get a letter the week after the interview- if you don't get that letter expect a call 2-3 weeks after the interview. This is from my own very recent experience as well as antecdotal evidence from other recent interviewees that I've talked to lately.

thanks a lot milehigh
Derinda interviewed me and told me to email her monday (my interview being wednesday) which I did. If she tells me that they're doing the security check on me, then that's good news.
but she hasn't replied yet.
I guess we'll just wait and see.
I'm not the greatest fan of the "waiting game"

The waiting game is definitely no fun, but you'll forget about it quickly when you get the congratulations call in a few weeks. Good luck.
