Someone told me that after 10% of the pilot group is below you, you could go to the home-basing again. Anyone care to confirm or deny this? Also, what are the restrictions to that, if true. I heard that as long as you are within 90 miles of an airport serviced by 2 carriers, but not sure if that is accurate.
Thanks

I think you'll have to have at least 70% of the pilot group behind you to get home-basing...only 5 or 6 years to go!

At least. There are about 2300 on the seniority list today. The junior man on the list would need to wait until we had over 7600 pilots to get home basing. Only 5000+ more new hires to go... for number 2301 to get his home basing!

How long do you think it will take to hire 5000 more pilots?

Is there or is there not a training contract now at NJA? I have tried to look at the contract but to no luck. I have heard both yes there is, and no there isn't. If so, what is the contract reference.

Thanks.

When you do get your type and leave, PLEASE (no matter the real reason) say that you are leaving because of not having fly from home.

I thought there was a 2 year contract to sign, or was that taken care of with the new CBA?

The new-hire contract was removed in the new contract. Under the last CBA, there was a 2-year training agreement but that is not the case currently.

Sorry to ask this question. Are NJA pilots permited to commute to thier asigned domicile? If so what are the details? Thanks

Are you given a security badge that you can use to jumpseat with?

I do apoligize for not knowing.

You do have a company badge, and you can jump seat on anyone who will let you on. We don't have any formal agreements with anyone yet. Hoping now that the contract is done that the management will allow the jumpseat commitee to get some agreements. It is my understanding that we had some agreements but that the company said no.

Thank you for your reply. Are there many companys that wont let you on?

You really can't count on jumpseating to get to work at NetJets. The usual problem is getting past the agent. If you can talk to the Captain then you've got a chance. Still, some airlines won't take Part 135 Pilots at all. I've heard Mesa is pretty good about it, and also US Airways mainline. But often the agent won't let you down the jetway unless your airline is on a list they have. I haven't tried to ride so maybe a NJA pilot who has ridden recently can give better info.

I would not try to work at NJA unless you have non-rev priviledges via a spouse or previous job, or else you live within driving range of one of the 5 domiciles.
