The one year snapshot on international flying starts this November. They have to decide by November of 2012 to extend it or not. If they decide not to extend it, the contract becomes amendable in May of 2013. Section 6 openers can be put out 6 months prior to that.

November of 2012 should be interesting.

Even more interesting than now...wow:laugh:

Not sure your election intentions, but if I had a vote you'd most likely have it.

So here is an honest question... If management decides not to extend the contract, is there something different about how negotiations work at a fractional then at a mainline? I look at the poor AA pilots. They have been working under their same contract for what about a decade? How long did flight options have to fight for their ********************ty contract ?

I'm guessing (and that is a big guess because I'm clueless on this) that management 101 is to delay, delay, delay. In doing so, your wages real buying power and the actual cost to the company becomes less and less and less. What forces management to actually sign a contract or negotiate in a timely manner ?

What can one expect if management decides to not extend the Netjet contract ?

Chaos. Mayhem. And an already wounded company pushed to the brink. JMHO.

The only problem I have with this theory is that when the company treated so so many so terribly, and cut staffing to the bone... NJA pilots were intent on doing everything they could to keep the owners happy... IE: they inadvertantly ended up working longer days, flying more tired, basically NOT DRAWING A LINE IN THE SAND.....BUT mess with the contract or draw out negotiations then it's "burn this M.F. down!"

I disagree with the thought process behind it. It takes on the form of an "I'm gonna get mine attitude." But if I hear one pilot say, "were you here for the 2012-2015 contract" I may just create my own Mayhem and chaos!!:)

The Union has already stated that getting much more in the way of pay is going to be very very difficult because of our current levels. So the gains will be made with the smaller QOL aspects of the contract.

I agree here, too. We might actually get a slight pay cut, given the woes of the economy.

FO pay will have to be addressed. We're two presidents away (at least) from the next upgrade class...
