Not sure if this has been covered yet. Just wondering if NJ's has any rumors about adding more bases or getting rid of the base requirement for new hires.

5 domiciles.

You will get an application packet. In the packet you must choose any or all of the domiciles to report to work. If successful in the interview, you will be contacted for a class date based on your domicile selection. ie. If you choose TEB and there are no openings for TEB until 2 years from now... no call for you.

The Doms aren't going anywhere (yet) but there has recently been a LOA to the contract concerning domiciles.

I tried to post it here but the pdf file is locked up tight.

The LOA allows newhires to trade domiciles with another pilot or move to a domicile with a vacancy (but I believe an equipment lock begins as a result).

Look at www.ibt1108.org for information on it. If you can't find it there, email the website masters for information on the Domicile LOA.

Good luck!

Last month in recurrent there were mumblings about opening up IAD and DEN as domiciles...haven't heard anything since but it is ONLY a rumor.

Good luck to all you looking to get onboard!

Just to echo what's been said, don't count on the 5 domiciles going away or getting HBA (Home Base Airport) for a new-hire. Even with the rumors of a DEN or IAD, remember that those are just rumors until they are written down and agreed upon.

I don't like the domiciles-only requirement for new-hires. But make sure you understand that the 5 domiciles are the reality right now and plan accordingly if you wish to pursue a job here.

Thanks. That's just the info I needed.
