Hey everybody,

I've done a couple of searches on here looking for some answers as to how to fill this out and seem to have only gotten some half-answers....so I'll try asking what everybody else is doing.

The "flight time worksheet" which is supposed to be clipped to page 5 clearly states "Dual time should not be duplicated in PIC or other columns" along with a bunch of other notes which spell it out pretty clearly. Kind of counterintuitive and a pain in the butt.... pretty self-explanatary though.

BUT on page 5 which asks about all the PIC and SIC times etc... it does not mention anything about breaking times out in this strange way. Do we just take those times directly out of our logbook as is? If so any idea on why the different treatment between the two tables?

Thanks for the help

What they're basically saying is, "we want the time you were acting as PIC, not just time you were logging it legally per 61.51." No great mystery on that one...

For what it's worth, I looked back at my application from two years ago, and I used the same numbers in both places for simplicity's sake. (Plus, I figured I'd keep myself out of trouble using the more conservative numbers.)

Worked for me. ;)

No idea, sorry.

On the flight time worksheet it specifically says to reference Part 61.51 for guidence.

Indeed it does. But under that, it adds other notes, including, "Dual time should not be duplicated in PIC or other columns." So while it's perfectly legal and proper to log dual time received in an airplane for which you are rated as PIC, NetJets specifically wants that time exempted from your totals for that application.

You are correct. I was merely answering his last question about PIC time. NetJets is asking for the Part 61 allowance for PIC time while alot of other aps. request only PIC time when you "sign" for an aircraft. I just wanted to make sure the origional poster didn't leave out his Part 61.51 PIC time as it would probably hurt him in the app. process.

OK....so the concensus here is to NOT include Dual time in the worksheet where it explicitly says not to, but DO include it in the "mini table" on page 5 where it does not give any such guidance... correct???

As it doesn't specify, do whatever you think is appropriate.

When I did it, I used the same methods for the table on page 5 as I used for the big grid, as I'd already done all the calculating on the flight times, and didn't care to do it again. ;) Whether that was the intent or not, I don't know, but it got me the interview and the job, for what it's worth.

Can anyone think of a logical reason that NetJets would want different methods used on the different areas?
