Talked to their chief pilot while I was on a fuel stop at Redbird in Dallas yesterday, and he offered me some part time flying if I wanted to do it. Banner towing in hot rodded Pawnees (300 hp hutchwing conversions). Just curious if any of you guys have heard of this outfit. I really dont need a part time gig, but it would be a decent way to keep tailwheel current for me. They are based in Houston.

No idea on the company, but why are they flying so much power to tow banners? Everything around here is 150 and 180HP Supercubs---how big does a banner need to be that you need 300 HP to get it in the air. Nothing bad about it, I guess---just curious. I've hauled some bigass signs behind a 150 SC!

Couldnt tell ya. All my experience with ag planes has been doing actual spraying, and the bigger the engine, the better... never been around banner towing. Only Pawnee I ever flew was a 235 hp Hutchwing, and it was a decent load hauler. Ive seen lots of Super Cubs towing banners, though.
