The job opening below was posted through the NBAA...by no means am I intending to give free advertising to this "placement agency," rather, just calling attention to a sorry attempt to fill this position of considerable responsibility at so low a salary. However, there will probably be no shortage of applicants. A shame any way you look at it...

>>Chief Pilot Needed. Must be 135 qualified. Type rating LR-35 or SA-227. Minimum 3,500 TT, 1,000 PIC. Prefer Bachelor degreed candidates. ATP or Commercial License. Excellent Company and benefits package. Pay $ 45-65K D.O.E. Plus Bonus. Employer pays our placement fee. If you qualify and are interested, please email a current resume to [email protected] or fax to (586) 726-8721 attention Elaine Turner and reference job number 511. For additional information on our Company and services, please click on the web address below.

Sincerely,
Robert D. Turner
President<<

Whats wrong with $65K?

This job would have looked mighty good seven years ago when the Zipper pulled the plug and ILF was paying me $250 wk to ride the jumpseat on the CV-580, load freight and learn the business. $65K to start with a chance to fly an airplane and make a diiference in the 135 world, sounds like a great opportunity. Remember you fly airplanes because you like flying airplanes, if you fly airplanes to make money you may be disappointed.
