1. IAW REF A, THE SECOND FY06 DCA SELECTION PANEL WILL CONVENE ON
22 MAY 06 TO SELECT PRIMARY AND ALTERNATE CANDIDATES FOR THE DCA
PROGRAM.
2. THE DCA PROGRAM SELECTS PRIOR MILITARY TRAINED PILOTS BASED ON
SERVICE NEED, WHICH HAS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED WITH ADDITIONAL
HOMELAND SECURITY MISSION REQUIREMENTS. ONLY APPLICANTS WHO ARE
ROTARY WING PILOTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
3. PILOTS SELECTED FOR THE DCA PROGRAM WILL SERVE AT ONE OF 26
COAST GUARD AIR STATIONS CONDUCTING A WIDE RANGE OF COAST GUARD
MISSIONS INCLUDING SEARCH AND RESCUE, LAW ENFORCEMENT, HOMELAND
SECURITY AND MARINE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION. ARMY WARRANT
OFFICERS, O-1'S AND O-2'S WILL BE COMMISSIONED AS ENSIGNS.
COMMISSIONED OFFICERS IN THE RANK OF O-3 AND ABOVE MAY BE
COMMISSIONED AS A LIEUTENANT JUNIOR GRADE IN THE COAST GUARD
RESERVE. ALL THOSE SELECTED INCUR FIVE YEARS OF OBLIGATED ACTIVE
DUTY SERVICE.
4. THE DCA PROGRAM IS NOT AN INTER-SERVICE TRANSFER. APPLICANTS
MUST BE SEPARATED FROM THEIR CURRENT MILITARY SERVICE, HAVE AN
APPROVED CONDITIONAL RELEASE (DD FORM 368), OR HAVE AN APPROVED
SEPARATION DATE PRIOR TO 30 SEPTEMBER 2006.
5. RECRUITERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THE APPLICATION PACKAGE
IS COMPLETE AND ALL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS ARE STRICTLY ADHERED
TO. APPLICATION PACKAGES ARE DUE TO CGRC NLT 21 APR 06.
APPLICATIONS POSTMARKED AFTER 21 APR 06 MAY NOT BE SCREENED OR
PRESENTED TO THE SELECTION PANEL. APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO

6. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL DCA APPLICANTS:
A. AGE: BE AT LEAST 21 AND LESS THAN 35 YEARS OLD AS OF 30 SEP 06.
ONE YEAR AGE WAIVERS MAY BE CONSIDERED BASED ON SERVICE NEED.
B. MILITARY SERVICE: HAVE AT LEAST 2 AND LESS THAN 10 YEARS OF
ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE AS A WARRANT OR COMMISSIONED OFFICER AS OF 30
SEP 06. NO WAIVERS FOR TIME IN SERVICE WILL BE CONSIDERED.
C. AVIATION EXPERIENCE: POSSESS EVIDENCE OF BEING A MILITARY RATED
HELICOPTER PILOT WITH A MINIMUM OF 500 ROTARY WING HOURS (NOT
INCLUDING INITIAL FLIGHT TRAINING), AND HAVE FULL TIME MILITARY OR
CIVILIAN FLIGHT EXPERIENCE WITHIN 2 YEARS FROM 22 MAY 06.
D. EDUCATION: HAVE A BACCALAUREATE DEGREE OR, IF ACTIVE DUTY, HAVE
COMPLETED AT LEAST 30 SEMESTER HOURS (45 QUARTER HOURS) AT AN
ACCREDITED COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY. APPLICANTS MUST HAVE GRADUATED
FROM A MILITARY FLIGHT TRAINING PROGRAM.
E. SECURITY CLEARANCE: ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO HOLD A
SECRET CLEARANCE.
7. RECRUITERS SHALL TAKE SPECIAL CARE TO ENSURE INTERVIEWS ARE
PROPERLY CONDUCTED. THE DCA INTERVIEW IS A TWO-PART INTERVIEW
CONSISTING OF THE OFFICER PROGRAMS APPLICANT INTERVIEW FORM AND THE
PROGRAM-SPECIFIC DCA INTERVIEW. RECRUITERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO
SCHEDULE BOTH OF THESE INTERVIEWS SIMULTANEOUSLY AND UTILIZE THE
SAME BOARD MEMBERS.
A. THE OFFICER PROGRAMS APPLICANT INTERVIEW FORM (CG-5527) MUST BE
CONDUCTED BY AN INTERVIEW BOARD CONSISTING OF AT LEAST 1 CG LCDR OR
ABOVE AS PRESIDENT AND ALL BOARD MEMBERS MUST BE EQUIVALENT IN RANK
OR SENIOR TO THE RANK THE APPLICANT IS APPLYING FOR. THE MOST
CURRENT VERSION OF THIS FORM (REV. 06-04) IS THE ONLY VERSION THAT
