This thread comes up about every 2-3 months, and it's the same thing everytime, it's getting old. Seriously let it go, pilots are always going to be on that list regardless of what everyone thinks.

I know that's true, but I think that this myth should stop.

Just passed this along after a friend passed it along to myself...

What are you guys cranked up about? I make a lot more than $14,000.00. I can't imagine anyone making les... What's that? A hundred and forty THOUSAND?! ARE THEY NUTS?!

Never mind. ;) TC

With his grandson in the right seat.

Two questions:

1. Why are they wearing their uniform jackets in the cockpit?

2. Why does the guy in the left seat only have 3 stripes?

What a joke. Those stats must be extremely old.

They're clearly looking at Captains at the Majors. F/O's are considered copilots, not real pilots. I'm sure if you looked at average Captain pay it would be pretty similiar to those results. Here, at SWA, Captains AVERAGE over 200k....

The figures are correct for a pre 911 pilot. They could also be correct for a post 911 pilot if the JBLU, AAI, NWA, and all the regional pilot grew a set and refused to steal work, fly without a retirement benefit that will provide a retirement, and include the soft time a contract needs to be a contract.

There will not be an raise or pilot shortage if age 65 becomes a reality which it has not.

AAI hasn't "stolen" any flying, has an excellent DC retirement benefit of 10.5% contributed by the company, and the average pilot receives quite a bit of soft time. I can't speak for the guys at JBlue, NWA, or anyone else, but your facts on AirTran aren't even close to accurate.
