New TSA Id's!

Hey guys our company has said that in the next 2 weeks we will receive replacement company ids and that they come from the TSA . Has anyone else heard of this at their airline? I wonder if it's going to be part of getting jumpseats open again once everyone has the same standarized id.

Don't know about the jumpseat deal, but we got ours already.

I think that the TSA has made some rules for the Company id. If your ID already complies with them, they your old ones are good. If not, the airline has to re-design. I know tow of the requirements are that they be "Landscape" like a drivers licsnse, and have the word "CREW" bold on it. It's kind of funny, our airline did this, and now there is no difference between a Capt, FO, or FA. We all have the same ID. So it makes it intresting to jumpseat.

I know we talked about this at recurrent last week. We may get some too but us being a fractional we are going to have to pay for own if we want them. That is unless the TSA requires us to have them too. They said it would cost 29.00. That is worth every penny to me. Just so I don't have to get searched everytime I go to work.

Continentals' new IDs are still "portrait" not "landscape". Is that a new requirement again? Is CAL going to have to do another change? There are still quite a few guys waiting for the new IDs with "CREW" on them, it would suck if we had to wait even longer.

I don't know what the requirements are but ours are already landscape and have the security hologram on them. They also say FLIGHT CREWMEMBER and Part 121 carrier on them so I don't know. Who knows....
